Congratulations to Hospitality student, Dominic McNamara, on being selected as the regional winner of 2020 VET in Schools Student of the Year for Western Sydney & Blue Mountains Region. Dominic is studying the Accelerated Hospitality (Kitchen Operations) program, beginning the Stage 6 course in Year 10 and will complete the HSC for this course in Year 11. He was selected as a candidate for the award based on his academic achievement, industry knowledge and personal skills and attributes. Dominic is a dedicated student who contributes positively to the College community and exhibits high moral standards in his dealings with others.
As the regional winner, Dominic continues to the next phase of the program involving a state interview for his category on Friday 14 August. Through the interview process, State winners will be selected to complete a week of professional development in preparation to compete in the Australian Training Awards later in the year.
Dominic is wished well for the next stage of the competition and we look forward to following the achievements of such a deserving student.
